Georgia Agent Licensing: What to Budget For
For a Georgia resident pursuing Life + Accident & Sickness, Georgia requires an approved prelicensing course of at least 8 hours per major line—16 hours minimum for both lines. Some schools offer 40-hour packages, but 40 hours is not the current state minimum.
Example course pricing: 40-hour courses are available from some providers, but prices vary. For example, current advertised options include about $99 to $299 depending on school and format. Always confirm the provider is Georgia-approved and check the current price before purchasing.
Important: Fees and requirements can change. Applicants should verify current costs and requirements with the Georgia Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner and Pearson VUE before registering.
